Matt Stempler is a partner in the Corporate and Commercial Finance Group at Cadwalader. His principal practice involves the representation of commercial banks, investment banks, hedge funds and other financial institutions in a broad variety of secured and unsecured financing transactions, including working capital financings for operating companies and commodities marketing companies, term loan financings of fixed assets, NAV financings, acquisition financings, DIP financings, exit financings, account receivables discounting and distressed debt trading.

Matt is also focused on innovation and emerging technologies impacting financing transactions. Matt’s writing on the topic includes “New UCC Article 12 Matters to More than Just Cryptocurrency”, published in The National Law Review, March 10, 2023.

Matt received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Richmond and his J.D. from the University of Virginia, where he was an executive editor on the Virginia Tax Review. Matt is admitted to practice in North Carolina.
