Mr. Doctoroff joined MUFG in 2012 to lead the firm’s US Financial Institutions banking practice. Prior to joining MUFG, Doctoroff spent 18-years at JPMorgan and predecessor institutions covering bank and non-bank financial institutions in the firm’s investment bank. Mr. Doctoroff was promoted as the Global Co-Head of MUFG’s Financial Institutions Group in 2017 with a focus on the U.S., EMEA, and Latin America.

Mr. Doctoroff joined Chemical Banking Corporation in 1994 and went through the management training program. From 1994-1997, Doctoroff worked in the Broker/Dealer Group in the Banking & Corporate Finance division as an Analyst and Associate covering the North American Securities Firms and Securities Infrastructure clients.

In 1997, Mr. Doctoroff relocated to Singapore where he co-led Chase Manhattan Bank’s efforts to launch a non-bank client coverage effort in Asia ex-Japan. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Doctoroff developed a banking business with securities firms, asset managers, insurance companies, private equity firms, and sovereigns within the firm’s Asian Financial Institutions Group in the Investment Bank.

In 2003, Mr. Doctoroff moved to Hong Kong to lead the firm’s investment banking practice with non- bank financial institutions across North and South Asia. Mr. Doctoroff led a number of landmark transactions in the sector:

• 2011 Sell-side M&A advisory for Board of Directors of Kim Eng Holdings Ltd, the largest securities broker/dealer in Asia ex-Japan;
• 2009 Affiliated Managers Group’s 5% investment into Value Partners Holdings
• 2007 IPO of Value Partners Holdings – the first asset management company IPO in Asia ex- Japan/Australia;
• 2005 Represented Kookmin Bank in the buy-side for KITC and DITC;
• 2005 Represented Lone Star Funds in the buy-side for Chang Hwa Commercial Bank

In 2007, Mr. Doctoroff relocated back to New York to take up a client coverage role in the newly formed Global Corporate Bank covering asset managers, hedge funds, securities broker/dealers, and banks in North America.

Mr. Doctoroff is a graduate of Bates College with a B.A. in Political Science and Japanese Language and of the Choate Rosemary Hall School. Mr. Doctoroff resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, son, and twin daughters.
